Thank you for sharing your dilemna with us! I am sure you will take the right decision. I would make sure that if you enter a barter with a landlord (or landlady), it is a fair and legally enforceable contract. I am saying that only because

I remember having rented a place where I had had no problem personally, but where all the previous tenants had ended up in a lawsuit with the landlady, because this is what she was doing, renting against improving her house for free, but never letting the people who had put a lot of work in her property ultimately benefit from anything.

But it sounds from what I heard from you that it looks like a very exciting and fair opportunity. I will think of you of course and hope that it turns out for the best! Keep us posted.

Hey Otir,
We were able to look at the house and meet the landlady today. As it turns out, it was not all I thought it might be (as sometimes happens). After talking to the landlady for a short time, I knew it would not be easy working with her. I did however follow up on another house, which Chris and I both liked. I will keep you posted:)

Oh! so it sounds like it was a little like what I had in mind when I heard your first description.

I hope that the other one will turn out a good thing. Or another one soon. It’s always stressful to look for a place! big decisions, little time.

Take care, thank you for answering me. I really love it.
